The APT Model 131 Backfill Tamper is used for soil compaction, temporary filling of holes, asphalt packing etc. Applications range from foundation and pavement repair to the installation of power and telephone poles. APT tampers come with a choice 3 styles of butts, a 6" diameter (approx. 7 lbs), 3" diameter butt (approx. 5 lbs) and a pole butt (approx. 5 lbs). The half moon shaped pole butt is for compaction around a pole and the 3" butt is for confined space compaction.
